Fri Apr 18 20:07:00 UTC 2025: ## CBI Raids in Chhattisgarh Uncover More Evidence in Public Service Commission Recruitment Scam

**Raipur, Chhattisgarh –** The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) conducted searches at five locations in Chhattisgarh on Friday, April 18th, 2025, as part of its ongoing investigation into the Chhattisgarh Public Service Commission (CGPSC) recruitment scam. The raids, targeting the premises of intermediaries and facilitators involved in the alleged manipulation of the 2020-2022 recruitment process for Deputy Collectors, DSPs, and other senior positions, yielded incriminating documents.

The CBI statement did not name the individuals whose premises were searched, but confirmed that their roles emerged during the investigation. The investigation centers on allegations that close relatives of government officials and politicians were selected for these positions based on factors other than merit.

This latest action follows previous arrests made in November 2024 and January 2025. These arrests included former CGPSC chairman Taman Singh Sonwani, Shravan Kumar Goyal (then Director of Shri Bajarang Power and Ispat Ltd), Nitesh Sonwani (Sonwani’s nephew and selected as Deputy Collector), Lalit Ganvir (then Deputy Exam Controller, CGPSC), Shashank Goyal, Bhumika Katiyar (both selected as Deputy Collectors), and Sahil Sonwani (selected as Deputy Superintendent of Police). The investigation continues.
