Sat Apr 19 03:50:00 UTC 2025: ## Eisenberg’s New Musical Comedy Assembles Star-Studded Cast
**LOS ANGELES –** Jesse Eisenberg’s highly anticipated follow-up to his Oscar-winning film, *A Real Pain*, is officially underway. The untitled musical comedy, produced by A24 and Fruit Tree, boasts an impressive cast including Julianne Moore, Paul Giamatti, Halle Bailey, Havana Rose Liu, and Bernadette Peters. Rounding out the ensemble are Bonnie Milligan, Colton Ryan, Lilli Cooper, and Maulik Pancholy.
The film, which has already begun production, centers on a shy woman unexpectedly cast in a community theater musical. The story follows her journey as she becomes completely immersed in the role, going to great lengths to embody the character. Eisenberg himself wrote the original music and lyrics for the in-movie musical, collaborating with music supervisor Steven Gizicki (*La La Land*) and executive music producer Bill Sherman (*In The Heights*).
This marks a reunion for Eisenberg with A24, following their collaboration on *When You Finish Saving the World*, and continues the strong relationship between A24 and Fruit Tree, the production company of Emma Stone, Dave McCary, and Ali Herting. Topic Studios will serve as executive producers. CAA Media Finance, WME Independent, and Johnson Shapiro negotiated the deal.
