**Kochi, Kerala:** Actor Shine Tom Chacko has confessed to using methamphetamine and cannabis during an extensive police interrogation on Saturday. While admitting to past drug use and undergoing de-addiction treatment 12 days prior at a rehabilitation center in Koothattukulam, he denied using drugs on the day police raided his hotel room.
Police have filed a case against Chacko for drug use and abetment of drug use. Evidence is being collected, including blood, hair, and nail samples, with the actor undergoing a medical examination at Ernakulam General Hospital for this purpose. While the charges currently filed are bailable, police state further investigation is necessary.
The investigation also revealed a connection between Chacko and a Kochi-based drug dealer, Sajir. Initially denying any link, Chacko later admitted to the relationship after police presented evidence including Google Pay transactions and WhatsApp chats, showing a ₹20,000 transaction between them on the day of the hotel raid.
