**Kochi, [Date]:** Actor Shine Tom Chacko, arrested on drug charges, has dismissed actress Vincy’s complaint against him as a conspiracy stemming from on-set disagreements. Chacko, who was questioned by police, maintained there were no other issues between him and Vincy.
Vincy had filed a complaint with the Aluva Film Chamber and the film’s Internal Complaints Committee (ICC), alleging that Chacko behaved inappropriately under the influence of drugs on the set of the film “Sootravakkyam.” She detailed an incident where a co-star, whom she implied was Chacko, behaved abusively towards her and a fellow actress while intoxicated. Vincy stated that the director and others apologized, enabling the film’s completion. She emphasized the incident left a deeply negative impact.
Chacko’s statement to police revealed that he uses methamphetamine and cannabis. He admitted to undergoing a 12-day drug rehabilitation program in Koothattukulam a year ago and acknowledged knowing Taslima, an accused in the Alappuzha hybrid cannabis case, with whom he had phone contact multiple times. He further alleged that his film’s assistant directors were involved in supplying him with drugs. Police investigations also revealed financial transactions between Chacko and a drug dealer, Sajeer, including a ₹20,000 transaction on the day Chacko fled a hotel. However, Chacko denied using drugs that day.
Police have completed a medical examination, collecting samples including Chacko’s nails and hair, to confirm drug use. He was released on station bail. Chacko’s brother, Jo John Chacko, provided conflicting information about his brother’s whereabouts and rehabilitation efforts.
Meanwhile, Major Ravi, a film director, defended Chacko, stating he is a good person and knows him well. The investigation is ongoing.
