**Dehradun, April 18, 2025** – Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has ordered a state-wide crackdown on illegal residents and the drug mafia, aiming to maintain the state’s reputation for peace and order. In a meeting with senior police officials yesterday, Dhami instructed police to identify and apprehend individuals using forged identification documents to reside illegally in Uttarakhand. Strict action will also be taken against those assisting these individuals in obtaining fake certificates.
The Chief Minister expressed concern over the slow processing of cybercrime FIRs, demanding a report on the current status of such cases. He further emphasized the need for improved work culture within the police department and directed the Director General of Police to take disciplinary action against any officers found guilty of misconduct. Dhami stressed the importance of maintaining Uttarakhand’s peaceful image and preventing it from becoming a haven for criminal activities.
