**Hyderabad, April 18, 2025** – The Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TGSRTC) announced the upgrade of its Tarnaka Hospital into a state-of-the-art super-speciality facility. The expansion significantly enhances cardiac and emergency care services.
Key improvements include a 40-bed intensive care unit, a modern modular operation theatre complex, and advanced imaging facilities such as CT and MRI scans. The upgrade aims to improve healthcare access for TGSRTC staff, their families, and the general public.
A crucial addition is a dedicated Cath Lab and Critical Cardiac Care Unit, established in collaboration with the FACTS Foundation. This unit will provide subsidized angiograms, angioplasties, and other cardiac interventions, easing the financial burden on patients during emergencies.
Corporate social responsibility played a significant role in the project. Ashok Leyland provided support for the cardiac equipment, while Indian Oil Corporation Ltd (IOCL), through the NGO Nirmaan, funded the upgrade of the emergency ward, which has reportedly doubled its patient volume.
The new facilities were inaugurated by the TGSRTC Vice Chairman and Managing Director, along with senior officials. The expansion marks a significant step in improving healthcare infrastructure in Telangana.
