**New Delhi, April 18, 2025** – The Delhi Police are investigating the murder of a 17-year-old boy, Kunal, who was fatally stabbed in the Seelampur area of northeast Delhi on Thursday. Two suspects, Sahil and Rehan, have been identified from CCTV footage. However, the investigation has taken a complex turn with the detention of Zikra, a woman described as a “lady don” with alleged ties to a jailed gangster, Hashim Baba.
Zikra, who previously worked as a bouncer for Baba’s wife and has a history of arrests including one under the Arms Act, is being questioned regarding her potential involvement in the murder. Sources suggest she may have been attempting to establish her own gang following the imprisonment of Zoya, Hashim Baba’s wife.
The victim’s family alleges Zikra was present at the scene of the crime. They also claim the murder may be retaliatory, stemming from a previous attack on Zikra’s cousin brother, Sahil, in which Kunal was allegedly involved. While Sahil survived the attack, the family source suggests he and Zikra planned revenge. Kunal’s mother, Parveen, denied her son’s involvement in the earlier incident.
The incident has sparked protests in Seelampur, leading to increased security presence by local police and the Rapid Action Force (RAF). Posters suggesting an exodus of Hindus from the area have appeared and been subsequently removed by police.
The murder has also ignited a political row, with the ruling BJP and opposition AAP trading accusations over the city’s deteriorating law and order situation. The investigation continues.
