Fri Apr 18 04:10:00 UTC 2025: ## YCP Leader Booked for Allegations of Cow Deaths at Tirupati’s TTD Gosala
**Tirupati, Andhra Pradesh:** A case has been filed against YCP leader and former TTD chairman Bhumana Karunakar Reddy for allegedly spreading false information about the death of over 100 cows at the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) Gosala. The case, registered under sections 353(1), 299 of the Indian Penal Code and section 74 of the IT Act, was filed by BJP leader and TTD board member Bhanu Prakash Reddy following a press meet where Reddy made the allegations.
Reddy maintained his stance on the number of cow deaths during a subsequent press conference. The incident sparked a political clash, with coalition party MLAs and leaders visiting the Gosala. Tensions escalated when police intervened to manage the large groups of politicians attempting to visit the facility, preventing Reddy and other YCP leaders from entering the Gosala in large groups, despite an initial agreement to allow limited numbers to enter. This led to a standoff, with Reddy staging a sit-in protest. Police presence was heavy throughout the day, with the SP and other high-ranking officials present to maintain order. The situation was further complicated by disagreements between visiting MPs and coalition MLAs.
The Gosala manager previously released a statement indicating that 191 cows had died by March of this year. Reddy, however, continues to stand by his claims and asserted his readiness to visit the Gosala at any time. The conflicting statements and political maneuvering have fueled intense debate around the management and conditions at the TTD Gosala. The incident highlights ongoing tensions between the ruling and opposition parties in Andhra Pradesh.
