**Sivaganga, Theni, and Dindigul, Tamil Nadu –** A large-scale tree planting initiative took place across three Tamil Nadu districts on Friday, led by judicial officers and aimed at increasing green cover and raising environmental awareness. The events, organized by the respective District Legal Services Authorities, saw hundreds of saplings planted and accompanying awareness campaigns.
Madras High Court Judge Justice G.K. Ilanthiraiyan presided over the Sivaganga event, emphasizing the importance not just of planting trees, but also of nurturing their growth. Over 500 saplings were planted along the Sivaganga-Melur road. Similar events in Theni and Dindigul saw approximately 250 and 1000 saplings planted respectively, with participation from local officials, students, and the public. In addition to planting, legal awareness camps were held, further emphasizing the multifaceted nature of the initiative.
