Fri Apr 18 06:30:00 UTC 2025: ## Lil Wayne Vows to Never Perform at Super Bowl Halftime Show After Kendrick Lamar Snub

**NEW ORLEANS, LA** – Rapper Lil Wayne has declared he will never perform at the Super Bowl halftime show after being passed over for the 2025 performance in his hometown of New Orleans. In a new interview with Rolling Stone, Wayne expressed his deep disappointment at not being selected, claiming the NFL led him on, encouraging him to participate in various high-profile events as part of a campaign to secure the gig.

Wayne detailed his efforts, stating that he attended events he wouldn’t normally attend, such as Michael Rubin’s all-white parties and events with Tom Brady, all in an attempt to boost his chances. Despite these efforts, Kendrick Lamar was ultimately chosen. Wayne claims he later received an apology from an NFL representative who said they lacked control over the final decision.

He further revealed that he didn’t even watch Lamar’s performance, stating he was too preoccupied playing pool and smoking outside. Wayne’s initial disappointment, expressed on Instagram shortly after the announcement, has now solidified into a vow to never participate in the event. He stated, “They stole that feeling. I don’t want to do it. It was perfect.”

The NFL and Roc Nation have yet to comment on Wayne’s statements.
