**New Delhi:** Left-arm pacer Arshdeep Singh expressed gratitude to Punjab Kings for their unwavering support throughout his seven-season career with the franchise. The 26-year-old, a key member of the Punjab Kings bowling attack, stated that his association with the team (formerly Kings XI Punjab) instilled in him a sense of seniority from a young age. He has played a pivotal role in the team’s success, having taken 84 wickets in total, with a career-best 19 wickets in a single season last year. This IPL season, he has already claimed eight wickets.
In a recent interview on the ‘Candid with Kings’ episode, Arshdeep reflected on his journey: “Except for my first year with Punjab Kings, I’ve felt like a senior player. Being with this team for seven years, after the first year, I felt a significant responsibility. This responsibility has helped me grow as a player and a person, both in the Indian team and the franchise.”
Arshdeep also highlighted the importance of his defined role within the team, emphasizing the need for consistent performance under pressure: “My role was clarified early on. I understood that even a small mistake could heavily impact the team. So, I had to be alert all the time. I took my role seriously and started thinking like a senior player quite early on.”
Addressing online criticism and memes, Arshdeep displayed a mature attitude: “My career has had its ups and downs. I’ve seen both highs and lows in a short span. But I find these trolls quite entertaining. I laugh at the creativity and memes of those who criticize me.”
