Thu Apr 17 08:10:00 UTC 2025: ## Pakistan Aim for World Cup Qualification Against Thailand

**Lahore, Pakistan** – Pakistan will face Thailand in a crucial match of the ICC Women’s World Cup 2025 Qualifiers today at the Gaddafi Stadium. Riding high after a resounding 65-run victory over the West Indies, where Sidra Amin was named Player of the Match, Pakistan leads the points table and is aiming to secure their spot in the World Cup in India later this year. Their spin attack proved particularly devastating against the West Indies.

Thailand, however, will be looking to rebound from a recent loss to Ireland. Captain Naruemol Chaiwai will lead her team in a bid to upset the unbeaten Pakistan side.

The match is a high-stakes encounter for both teams, with only the top two teams from the round-robin tournament progressing to the main event. The tournament, also featuring Bangladesh, Ireland, Scotland, and the West Indies, is being played at Lahore’s Gaddafi Stadium and LCCA Ground.

The future of Pakistan’s participation in the qualifiers remains uncertain, however. Following India’s decision to not play in Pakistan for the ICC Champions Trophy, a “fusion” model has been adopted, meaning Pakistan’s remaining matches may be played at neutral venues.

Despite this uncertainty, Pakistan, led by captain Fatima Sana, will be looking to continue their winning streak and secure a place in the World Cup. The full team lineups for both Pakistan and Thailand have been released.
