**NEW DELHI** – The Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) has issued a strong denial to recent social media claims that Tatkal ticket booking timings for Indian Railways have been altered, effective April 15th. A statement released by IRCTC confirmed that no changes to the booking schedule for Tatkal or Premium Tatkal tickets – across all AC and non-AC classes – are planned. The permitted booking timings for agents also remain unchanged.
The clarification follows a wave of misleading posts circulating online suggesting revised booking hours. Currently, Tatkal e-tickets can be booked one day prior to travel (excluding the travel date) from the train’s originating station. Bookings open at 10:00 AM IST for AC classes and 11:00 AM IST for non-AC classes. The existing surcharge structure and refund policy remain in effect.
IRCTC emphasized the ease of booking Tatkal tickets through its website and mobile app. The corporation urged passengers to rely only on official sources for accurate information regarding ticket bookings and schedules.
