**Hyderabad, April 17, 2025** – The Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) vehemently condemned the Enforcement Directorate’s (ED) charges against Rahul and Sonia Gandhi in the National Herald case, calling it a politically motivated “witch hunt” orchestrated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah.

TPCC working president and former MLA T. Jayaprakash Reddy, addressing a protest in Sangareddy, dismissed the ED’s allegations as baseless. He showcased historical photographs of the Nehru family’s ancestral homes, arguing that their privileged background belied accusations of corruption and highlighted the family’s contributions to India’s independence.

Reddy asserted that the BJP’s actions are a desperate attempt to deflect attention from Rahul Gandhi’s growing popularity and his push for a nationwide caste survey, a move perceived as a direct challenge to the BJP’s political narrative. He claimed that Modi fears Gandhi’s increasing influence on social justice issues. Reddy warned of a public backlash against the BJP for its actions, stating that India will not forgive Modi for these “silly” allegations.
