Thu Apr 17 14:40:00 UTC 2025: ## Wilmington Celebrates 35th Annual Earth Day Festival
**WILMINGTON, NC** – Wilmington will mark its 35th annual Earth Day celebration with a free festival at Long Leaf Park on Saturday, April 26th, from noon to 6 p.m. The “Our Power, Our Planet” themed event, hosted by the Wilmington Earth Day Alliance, will feature live music, food vendors, environmental exhibits, and family-friendly activities.
Over 50 exhibitors will offer information and engage attendees on environmental issues and solutions. A raffle for a Hurricane Kayak is planned, and festival merchandise will be available. Leashed pets are welcome in designated areas. The festival aims for zero waste, utilizing compostable food packaging and cutlery. A variety of food trucks, including vegan and vegetarian options, will be present. Wave Transit will provide free shuttle service between the New Hanover County Senior Center and the park. Wave Transit’s fixed-route buses and RideMICRO services will also be fare-free on April 26th in honor of Earth Day.
The musical lineup includes Au Naturales, Rapping Red Oak, Tercel, Community Drummers and Dancers, and Righteous Roots.
**Oak Island Earth Day & Arbor Day Celebration:**
Oak Island will also celebrate Earth Day and Arbor Day on April 26th from noon to 4 p.m. at Middleton Park Complex and Bill Smith Park. Events include educational activities, demonstrations, a tree dedication ceremony, and live oak distribution. Wallace’s Food Truck will be on site.
