Palou, currently embroiled in a legal battle with McLaren Racing, reiterated his lack of interest in F1, stating that his focus remains on securing his third IndyCar championship in a row. While his contract with Chip Ganassi Racing includes an F1 buyout clause, Palou sidestepped questions regarding a potential approach from Cadillac’s new F1 team, TWG Motorsports.

Meanwhile, other IndyCar drivers are expressing stronger interest in the available Cadillac F1 seats. Colton Herta, a long-time F1 hopeful, stated that while he’s appreciative of his current team, he would give a potential F1 opportunity serious consideration. However, his move is contingent on securing a super license by achieving a high enough championship finish this year.

Pato O’Ward, on the other hand, is actively pursuing an F1 opportunity and has openly stated his desire to join Cadillac’s new team. O’Ward, who already holds a super license and has experience with McLaren F1 as a reserve driver, believes he’s ready for the challenge. He confirmed that while he hasn’t yet been contacted by Cadillac F1, he would welcome the opportunity to discuss a potential move. O’Ward’s current contract with McLaren Racing includes an out clause, allowing him to pursue other F1 opportunities if McLaren doesn’t match any offers.
