**New Delhi, April 17, 2025** – The Delhi Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leveled serious allegations against the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Thursday, claiming that funds extorted through the Delhi liquor scam were used to finance the AAP’s campaign in the Goa Assembly elections. Delhi BJP president Virendra Sachdeva stated that AAP leader Durgesh Pathak, who was then in-charge of Goa for the AAP, played a key role in this alleged misuse of funds. This statement comes in the wake of CBI searches conducted at Mr. Pathak’s residence. Mr. Pathak currently serves as AAP’s co-in-charge for Gujarat, where elections are scheduled for 2027.
The AAP has denounced the CBI searches as politically motivated, viewing them as an attempt to hinder their preparations for the upcoming Gujarat elections. Mr. Sachdeva dismissed this claim, highlighting that the Gujarat elections are still two years away and questioning why AAP leaders are concerned if the CBI is simply conducting its duties. The BJP described the AAP as a corrupt party and reiterated its accusations regarding the misuse of funds obtained through the Delhi liquor scam.
