**PUTTAPARTHI, Andhra Pradesh, April 17, 2025** – Six individuals, including three minors, have been arrested in Puttaparthi, Andhra Pradesh, for the theft of 13 two-wheelers valued at ₹10 lakh. Police recovered all the stolen vehicles, comprising 11 motorcycles and two other two-wheelers, following a vehicle check on Thursday morning.
The arrests come amidst a rise in automobile thefts in the Dharmavaram sub-division. Police, acting on instructions from Superintendent of Police V Ratna, intensified vehicle checks at the Battalapalli Y-junction, leading to the apprehension of the suspects. During questioning, the six confessed to the thefts, which occurred in Battalapalli, Dharmavaram, and Anantapur Town.
The arrested adults have been identified as Pranay, Dhanush, and Siddhi Vinay, all residents of Anantapur town. Police attribute the crimes to the youngsters’ addiction to vices and stated that they committed the thefts to fund their habits. Authorities urged parents to monitor their children’s activities.
In a separate incident, Puttaparthi police conducted a raid on an agriculture field near Kovelaguttapalle, apprehending seven individuals engaged in gambling and seizing ₹60,100 in cash.
