Thu Apr 17 13:20:00 UTC 2025: **Arjun Tendulkar Benched Again for Mumbai Indians; Experienced Bowlers Preferred**

**Delhi, April 13, 2025** – Arjun Tendulkar, son of cricketing legend Sachin Tendulkar, has once again been left out of the Mumbai Indians (MI) playing XI for their IPL 2025 match against the Delhi Capitals at the Arun Jaitley Stadium. This continues a trend of limited playing time for the young all-rounder.

Team management cited the need for a balanced playing XI as the reason for Tendulkar’s omission. The presence of established players such as Trent Boult (a left-arm fast bowler acquired for Rs 12.5 crore) and Deepak Chahar (a consistent all-rounder signed for Rs 9.5 crore) has seemingly pushed Tendulkar down the pecking order. While Tendulkar was purchased by MI for Rs 30 lakh at the IPL 2025 mega auction, he has only appeared in five matches for the team, taking three wickets.

The decision comes after MI’s 12-run loss to Royal Challengers Bangalore last week, a match in which Tendulkar was also absent from the squad. Despite his lineage and potential, the young player has yet to secure a consistent spot in the team. The focus remains on experienced players who can deliver immediate impact, leaving Tendulkar on the sidelines for now.
