**Kochi:** Actor Shine Tom Chacko escaped from a Kochi hotel during a police drug raid last night, according to CCTV footage released today. The footage shows Chacko leaping from his third-floor hotel room window at PG’s Vedanta Hotel in Kaloor, Kochi, onto a sheet on the second floor, which tore under his weight. He then jumped into the swimming pool and fled the scene via the staircase.
Police acted on a tip-off regarding drug use at the hotel room. Authorities are investigating whether hotel staff were complicit in leaking information about the impending raid and are questioning employees.
Upon arrival at room number 314, police found another individual, identified as Murshid, who claimed to work at a private Kochi establishment. Another person, Anantakrishnan, was also present in the room earlier but left before the raid. Police have subsequently questioned Anantakrishnan.
This incident follows recent allegations against Chacko by actress Vincy Aloshius, who claimed he misbehaved under the influence of drugs on the set of the film “Sootravakyam”. She has filed a complaint with the Film Chamber, which will hold an emergency meeting on Monday to consider the matter. Excise officials have stated that further action will be taken if sufficient evidence is found to support her claims. The investigation into both incidents is ongoing.
