KOCHI, INDIA – Actor Shine Tom Chacko escaped from a Kochi hotel Wednesday night during a police raid by the Danceaf unit, which specializes in narcotics investigations. Initial reports suggest the police presence at the hotel was coincidental. The Danceaf team was actually searching for another suspected drug trafficker when they arrived at the hotel around 10:45 PM. While searching for the suspect, they discovered Chacko’s registration in the hotel.
Upon approaching his room, Chacko allegedly saw officers via the door camera and jumped from the second-story window into the hotel’s swimming pool. CCTV footage obtained by police shows Chacko’s escape, including his fall onto a sheet-covered roof which subsequently tore, and his subsequent flight from the hotel.
While police searched Chacko’s room and questioned his companion, no incriminating evidence was found. However, police suspect Chacko may have been using or possessing narcotics and are investigating his actions. Chacko’s mother stated to the media that he fled out of fear and that she doesn’t know his current whereabouts.
