**New Delhi, April 16, 2025** – The Delhi government has quashed rumors of impending cuts to electricity and transportation subsidies, assuring citizens that existing benefits will remain in place.

Power Minister Ashish Sood confirmed on Tuesday that subsidies for domestic consumers, farmers, lawyers with chambers, and victims of the 1984 anti-Sikh riots will continue. This announcement directly counters claims made by the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) during the recent Assembly elections that a BJP victory would result in the termination of these subsidies. AAP Delhi president Saurabh Bharadwaj responded by criticizing the BJP’s management of the city’s power sector, citing frequent power outages.

Separately, Transport Minister Pankaj Singh dispelled reports of an upcoming ban on CNG-run auto-rickshaws and other vehicles. Singh stated that no such ban is planned, contradicting several media reports that suggested the draft of the new electric vehicle (EV) policy, EV Policy 2.0, would halt new CNG auto-rickshaw registrations on August 15. He clarified that the current EV policy has been extended until EV Policy 2.0 is finalized.
