**VIJAYAWADA, April 16, 2025** – The death of a 27-year-old woman in Vijayawada’s Auto Nagar area under suspicious circumstances has ignited outrage and raised serious concerns about women’s safety. Police have arrested P. Prabhakar, alias Nathi Siva, accusing him of sexually assaulting the woman, a rag-picker, before her death. The incident occurred near the Patamata police station on April 1st.
According to police, the accused offered the victim food before assaulting her in a public place. While the cause of death remains officially undetermined pending a post-mortem report, the incident has fueled anxieties among residents.
