**Mangaluru, April 16, 2025** – All Muslim elected representatives in Dakshina Kannada will participate in upcoming protests against the Waqf (Amendment) Act, according to Siraj Bajpe, President of the Dakshina Kannada Muslim Janapratinidhigala Okkoota. Two protests are planned, one on April 18th organized by Ulemas, and another on April 29th organized by the Muslim Central Committee.
Mr. Bajpe stated that the protests aim to address misconceptions surrounding the Act, specifically refuting claims that Hindu properties are being wrongly acquired under the guise of Waqf ownership. He accused the BJP government of amending the Act to favor capitalists and the central government of attempting to create discord between Hindus and Muslims.
