**BOSTON, MA –** Boston Bruins forward Morgan Geekie has been named the winner of NESN’s 7th Player Award, a fan-voted honor recognizing the player who exceeded expectations this season. The announcement was made Tuesday night before the Bruins game against the New Jersey Devils at TD Garden.

Geekie, a 26-year-old forward, had a breakout year, setting career highs with 32 goals, 24 assists, and 56 points in 76 games. His performance ranked him second among Bruins skaters in goals and points. The 6-foot-3, 208-pound forward also surpassed the 30-goal and 50-point milestones for the first time in his career.

The award, presented by Mario’s Roofing, Siding and Windows, includes a $5,000 donation to the charity of Geekie’s choice. He and his family have selected Boston Children’s Hospital.

Geekie joins a prestigious list of past winners, including current Bruins Pavel Zacha, Jeremy Swayman, Charlie McAvoy, and David Pastrnak. Glenn Monteiro of Plymouth, MA, won the accompanying sweepstakes.
