**West Chester, PA (April 14, 2025)** – A tense standoff unfolded in West Chester yesterday afternoon when a man experiencing a mental health crisis fired shots at police officers. The incident occurred around 3 p.m. on the 50th block of South Church Street.

Responding officers, called to the scene to address the mental health crisis, came under fire. While one officer sustained minor injuries, no one was struck by bullets. Police returned fire during the incident, according to the Chester County District Attorney’s Office.

The man was ultimately taken into custody and transported to a local hospital. The incident remains under investigation.
