**Kozhikode, Kerala –** Popular Kerala YouTuber Thoppi (Nihad) was briefly detained by police in Kozhikode on Tuesday after an altercation with a private bus crew. Thoppi allegedly pointed what appeared to be a firearm at the bus staff following a road rage incident. However, the weapon was later determined to be an air gun, not requiring a license, and no formal complaint was filed by the bus staff. Thoppi was subsequently released.
The incident occurred after a disagreement stemming from the bus overtaking Thoppi’s car. Following the overtaking, Thoppi pursued the bus and engaged in a verbal argument with the staff. Police intervened, taking both parties to the station to investigate. After confirming the weapon was an air gun and the lack of a formal complaint, Thoppi was released.
Thoppi, who boasts a large YouTube following, has previously faced police action for allegedly making objectionable remarks and causing a traffic obstruction during a local shop inauguration in Malappuram.
