**TIRUNELVELI, April 16, 2025** – The renowned ‘Iruttukkadai Halwa’ family of Tirunelveli has filed a police complaint alleging dowry harassment against their daughter Kanishka’s husband and in-laws. Kanishka, who married Balram Singh of Coimbatore on February 2nd, and her mother Kavitha claim that despite receiving substantial jewelry and cash as dowry, the in-laws continue to demand more, subjecting Kanishka to harassment. The family has appealed to Chief Minister M.K. Stalin for intervention to ensure Kanishka’s safety. The complaint has been submitted to Tirunelveli City Commissioner of Police Santosh Hadimani.
