Tue Apr 15 22:20:43 UTC 2025: **Andhra Pradesh Minister Celebrates Top Government College Students**

Vijayawada, Andhra Pradesh – Andhra Pradesh’s Human Resource Development (HRD) Minister, Nara Lokesh, lauded the state-level toppers from government junior colleges at the “Shining Stars-2025” event in Undavalli on Tuesday. The Minister presented gold medals and laptops to the 52 students, emphasizing their achievement as a refutation of the misconception that government college students cannot excel academically.

Lokesh highlighted the government’s commitment to upgrading government schools and colleges to match private institutions, ensuring that poverty doesn’t hinder educational opportunities. He cited the reintroduction of the midday meal scheme in junior colleges as a measure to support students from disadvantaged backgrounds.

Drawing from his personal experiences, the Minister encouraged students to pursue fields that genuinely interest them, highlighting diverse career options beyond IT, particularly in emerging sectors like solar energy and compressed biogas. He also stressed the importance of remembering parental sacrifices and aiming to become job creators rather than just job seekers. The government, he added, is considering providing uniforms to intermediate students and will support students financially, even for overseas education. The Minister concluded by noting the higher number of female toppers and jokingly acknowledging his wife’s superior academic and business acumen.
