**GURUGRAM, INDIA –** A 46-year-old air hostess has accused hospital staff of sexually assaulting her while she was on a ventilator in the ICU of a private Gurugram hospital on April 6th. The alleged assault only came to light on April 13th, after the woman’s discharge, when she reported the incident to her husband.
The woman, who was in Gurugram for company training, had been hospitalized following a drowning incident. She claims the assault occurred while she was unconscious and intubated, with two nurses present. Unable to speak or defend herself at the time, she only revealed the alleged assault after regaining consciousness and being discharged.
Her husband subsequently contacted the police, leading to the filing of a complaint at the Sadar Police Station. Gurugram police have launched an investigation, reviewing the hospital’s duty chart and CCTV footage to identify the perpetrator(s). A statement from the victim has been recorded before a magistrate. Police spokesperson Sandeep Kumar confirmed that the investigation is underway and that arrests will follow the identification of the accused.
The hospital administration has declined to comment on the allegations, and security staff claim ignorance of the incident. The investigation is ongoing.
