**Kozhikode, April 15, 2025** – A 35-year-old woman, Manchira Lisha, was allegedly strangled to death by her husband, 42-year-old Jilson, in Kenichira near Panamaram, Wayanad district on Monday. Jilson subsequently attempted suicide and is currently hospitalized at Kozhikode Medical College Hospital with self-inflicted wrist injuries.
Police sources indicate that financial problems may have been the motive behind the crime. Lisha was strangled using a charging cable, and the incident occurred early Monday morning in the presence of the couple’s two children.
