Tue Apr 15 08:22:16 UTC 2025: ## Wholesale Price Inflation Eases in March
**New Delhi, April 15, 2025** – India’s wholesale price inflation eased to 2.05% in March, down from 2.38% in February, according to government data released Tuesday. While this represents a decrease from the previous month, it’s still a year-on-year increase compared to the 0.26% inflation rate recorded in March 2024.
The Ministry of Industry attributed the positive inflation rate to price increases in manufactured food products, other manufactured goods, food articles, electricity, and textiles. A significant factor contributing to the overall decrease was a sharp drop in vegetable prices, resulting in a 15.88% deflation in March, compared to 5.80% in February. Food inflation as a whole eased to 1.57% from 3.38%.
However, inflation in manufactured products rose to 3.07% in March, up from 2.86% the previous month. The fuel and power sector also saw an increase, with inflation reaching 0.20% compared to a 0.71% deflation in February.
