**Tirunelveli, April 15, 2025** – Following a stabbing incident on Tuesday involving an eighth-grader attacking a classmate, all schools in Tirunelveli district, including matriculation higher secondary schools, have been ordered to implement daily bag checks for all students.
The directive, issued by Chief Educational Officer Sivakumar, aims to enhance student safety and prevent future incidents. Teachers will inspect bags before classes begin, confiscating prohibited items such as mobile phones, weapons, and sharp objects.
