KALABURAGI, Karnataka – A massive job fair, slated to launch tomorrow in Kalaburagi, aims to provide employment opportunities to 100,000 individuals, announced Rural Development and Panchayat Raj Minister Priyank Kharge. The event, to be inaugurated by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge, will see participation from 280 companies and has already registered over 22,000 candidates. Appointments will be offered on the spot based on qualifications, with a focus on applicants registered under the Yuva Nidhi scheme. Similar job fairs are planned for Mysuru and Belagavi.

Simultaneously, the inauguration of a new ₹216.53 crore super-specialty hospital and a ₹6.20 crore brachytherapy radiation unit at the Gulbarga Institute of Medical Sciences (GIMS) is also scheduled. Further, foundation stones will be laid for several other healthcare and development projects, including hospitals, a multi-skill development center, and an allied health sciences college, totaling hundreds of crores in investment.

Kalyana Karnataka Region Development Board (KKRDB) Chairman Ajay Singh stated that 25% of the board’s funds will be allocated to education.

Minister Kharge also highlighted the Kalaburagi Police’s intensified efforts against drug trafficking, noting a significant increase in seizures and arrests this year compared to last year. The government plans to launch widespread awareness campaigns to combat the drug menace. Additional initiatives include filling 5,520 vacant primary school teacher posts and developing 23 parks in the city. Nine vehicles were also provided to the Kalaburagi City Police by the KKRDB.
