**Thiruvananthapuram, April 15, 2025** – The 48th Kerala Film Critics Awards, announced Tuesday in Thiruvananthapuram, saw a flurry of accolades recognizing outstanding contributions to Malayalam cinema in 2024. “Feminichi Fathima,” directed by Fasil Muhammed, took home the coveted Best Film award. Indu Lekshmi won Best Director for “Appuram.”
Tovino Thomas secured Best Actor (Male) for his roles in “ARM” and “Anweshippin Kandethum,” while Nazriya Nazim and Rima Kallingal shared the Best Actor (Female) award for their performances in “Sookshmadarshini” and “Theatre-The Myth of Reality,” respectively.
Veteran film critic Vijayakrishnan received the Chalachitra Retnam Lifetime Achievement Award, and actor-scriptwriter Jagadeesh was honored with the Ruby Jubilee Award, celebrating the Association’s 40th anniversary. Several other prominent figures in Malayalam cinema were also recognized with Chalachitra Prathibha Awards, including actors Seema, Babu Antony, and Suhasini, along with cinematographer-director Vipin Mohan, producer Jubilee Joy Thomas, and action choreographer Thyagarajan.
The awards also highlighted a wide range of cinematic achievements, with accolades given for Best Supporting Actors (male and female), Best Child Artistes, Best Screenplay, Best Lyricist, Best Music Director, Best Playback Singers, Best Cinematography, Best Film Editor, Best Sound, Best Art Direction, Best Makeup, Best Costume design, and numerous awards recognizing the best films in various categories such as Best Popular Film, Best Children’s Film, Best Film on Women Empowerment, and more.
