**Mexico City, Mexico** – A coordinated effort by federal and local law enforcement agencies in Mexico has resulted in the arrest of seven individuals linked to a drug trafficking organization operating in Puebla and Sinaloa states. The operation, involving the Secretariat of National Defense (SEDENA), the Secretariat of Security and Citizen Protection (SSPC), the National Guard (GN), the Attorney General’s Office (FGR), the Secretariat of the Navy (SEMAR), and Mexico City’s Secretariat of Citizen Security (SSC), dismantled three clandestine drug labs and seized a significant amount of narcotics and weapons.
The arrests followed an investigation into a group led by Joel Alfonso “N,” identified as the head of a cell responsible for manufacturing and distributing methamphetamine. Authorities utilized technological surveillance to gather evidence, leading to search warrants for three properties in Puebla. The raids resulted in the seizure of approximately 30 kilograms of marijuana, various weapons including a long gun and a handgun, ammunition, and a quantity of methamphetamine.
Two suspects were apprehended in Mexico City, one of whom was Joel Alfonso “N,” who was found carrying a firearm, ammunition, and drugs. Investigations revealed Alfonso “N”‘s alleged involvement in drone attacks against authorities in Sinaloa.
The arrested individuals, including two women and five men, have been charged, and investigations are ongoing. The detained individuals and confiscated materials have been handed over to the Public Ministry. All three properties involved have been secured by law enforcement. The operation highlights the ongoing efforts of Mexican authorities to combat drug trafficking and organized crime.
