**LAHORE, PAKISTAN** – David Warner, captain of the Karachi Kings in the Pakistan Super League (PSL), has dismissed claims that he is facing online abuse from Indian fans for participating in the tournament. A Pakistani reporter suggested during a press conference that Indian fans were trolling Warner for playing in the PSL after he wasn’t picked up in the recent IPL auction. Warner responded that this was the first he’d heard of such criticism.

The former Australian opener, who retired from international cricket last year, is making his PSL debut this season. He cited scheduling conflicts as the reason for his previous absences from the league. Warner emphasized his desire to compete and lead the Karachi Kings to victory.

Warner’s participation in the PSL comes after he was released by the Delhi Capitals following the IPL auction. Despite this, he remains the IPL’s fourth highest run-scorer ever, with 6565 runs in 184 matches across stints with the Delhi Capitals and Sunrisers Hyderabad. He led the Delhi Capitals in 2023. His first PSL match will be against Multan Sultans, captained by Mohammad Rizwan.
