**London, UK** – Larian Studios has announced the highly anticipated Patch 8 for Baldur’s Gate 3 will launch on Tuesday, April 15th. This substantial update, previously available in stress tests, introduces a wealth of new content to the critically acclaimed RPG.
Patch 8 boasts twelve new subclasses, dramatically expanding character customization options. Players can explore roles such as the College of Glamour Bard, capable of charming enemies and healing allies; the Path of Giants Barbarian, offering increased strength and carrying capacity; and the Starry Form Druid, harnessing celestial powers. Other new subclasses include the Oath of the Ancients Paladin, Arcane Archer, Drunken Master Monk, Swarmkeeper Ranger, Assassin Rogue, Shadow Magic Sorcerer, and Hexblade Warlock, each with unique abilities and gameplay mechanics. The patch also introduces a much-requested photo mode, cross-play functionality, and split-screen support for the Xbox Series S.
This update marks the final major content drop for Baldur’s Gate 3, as Larian Studios has confirmed they are moving on to a new, unannounced project. This news comes as Hasbro, the owner of the Dungeons & Dragons intellectual property, hinted at future plans for the Baldur’s Gate series, leaving open the possibility of a future installment. While specifics remain undisclosed, Hasbro’s SVP of digital games, Dan Ayoub, indicated that discussions regarding the franchise’s future are underway.
Larian will celebrate the Patch 8 release with a Twitch livestream featuring senior systems designer Ross Stephens, providing a detailed overview of the changes. The full patch notes are available on the Baldur’s Gate 3 website.
