**Chennai, April 15, 2025** – The All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK) will formally endorse its electoral alliance with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) at a crucial executive meeting scheduled for May 2nd in Chennai. This comes a week after the two parties announced their pact for the 2026 Tamil Nadu Assembly elections.
The meeting, to be chaired by AIADMK presidium chairman A. Tamilmagan Hussain, is expected to ratify the decision made by party general secretary Edappadi K. Palaniswami to revive the alliance. Palaniswami is anticipated to explain the rationale behind the renewed partnership, following the AIADMK’s split with the BJP and exit from the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) in September 2023.
