Mon Apr 14 17:40:00 UTC 2025: ## Major Fire Breaks Out at Lucknow Hospital; All Patients Evacuated

**Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh:** A major fire broke out at Lokbandhu Raj Narayan Hospital in the Ashiana area of Lucknow on Monday night, causing panic and prompting a large-scale evacuation. The blaze, which started in the women’s ward and quickly spread to the ICU, resulted in the safe relocation of approximately 200 patients.

According to reports, the fire erupted around 9:45 PM. Patients and their attendants were forced to flee as flames engulfed the second floor, where the women’s ward and ICU were located. ICU patients, some in critical condition, were swiftly transferred to Civil Hospital and Balrampur Hospital via ambulances. Patients from the women’s ward were moved to other sections of the hospital.

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath contacted officials to ascertain the situation and ordered immediate relief and rescue operations. Deputy Chief Minister Brajesh Pathak personally visited the hospital. Initial investigations by hospital authorities point to a short circuit in an AC plant as the probable cause of the fire.

Firefighters battled the blaze with eight fire engines, deploying a fire tower and large exhaust machines to extinguish the flames and clear the smoke. While the fire was brought under control, two ICU patients suffered serious respiratory distress due to smoke inhalation. The Deputy CM confirmed that all patients were safely evacuated and accounted for. A thorough investigation has been launched to determine the exact cause of the fire and to prevent future incidents.
