Mon Apr 14 03:30:00 UTC 2025: ## Telangana Launches New Land Records Portal, Bhu Bharati, to Replace Dharani
**Hyderabad, April 14, 2025** – Telangana is set to launch Bhu Bharati, a new land records management portal, replacing the existing Dharani portal. Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy will officially launch the portal and accompanying app today, Dr. B.R. Ambedkar’s birthday.
Bhu Bharati aims to improve land record management and address concerns raised about its predecessor. The government will initially implement a pilot project in three mandals across different districts to assess the portal’s efficacy and address any initial issues. Teams will collect applications from landowners, verify information against existing records, and upload updated details to Bhu Bharati.
Revenue Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy explained that Bhu Bharati will feature a simplified design with six modules, compared to Dharani’s 33. The portal will include details of approximately 18 lakh acres of land, encompassing government, agency, and private holdings. While Dharani will not be immediately removed, the government plans to upgrade its software to incorporate the latest technologies.
Chief Minister Reddy has emphasized user-friendliness and security, instructing officials to design the portal for easy navigation by all users and to implement robust security measures. The system is intended to manage land-related issues for the next 100 years. The government will also conduct awareness campaigns to educate the public about the new system. The full launch of Bhu Bharati is expected before June 2nd, Telangana’s state formation day.
