AMARAVATI, April 14, 2025 – The Andhra Pradesh government announced a significant reshuffle within its bureaucracy on Sunday, April 13th, sparking debate amongst officials. Senior IAS officer Ram Prakash Sisodia, Special Chief Secretary for Land, Registration, and Stamps, has been transferred to the Handloom and Textiles department. This move follows his key role in implementing land reforms since the NDA government’s formation.

The transfer has led to speculation regarding further changes. G. Jaya Lakshmi, Chief Commissioner of Land Administration, will temporarily assume Sisodia’s previous responsibilities. Several other appointments were also made, filling vacancies and additional charges. These include appointments to the positions of Director General of the Andhra Pradesh Human Resource Development Institute (APHRDI), Commissioner of the State Institute of Rural Development, CEO of A.P. Rythu Bazar, Secretary of APTWREIS, Director of Ayush, and Managing Director of APSACS.

The Chief Secretary, K. Vijayanand, issued two government orders (G.O. Nos. 703 and 704) detailing the transfers and appointments. Sources within the Secretariat indicate that this is just the first phase of a larger reshuffle involving IAS and IPS officers, with further transfers expected in the coming days.
