Sun Apr 13 09:35:32 UTC 2025: ## Coimbatore Pastor Arrested in Kerala for Alleged Sexual Assault of Minors

**Munnar, Kerala –** John Jebaraj, a 37-year-old pastor from the Kings Generation Church in Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu, was arrested in Munnar, Kerala, on charges of sexually assaulting two minors. Jebaraj, who boasts a significant social media presence, had been evading arrest for several months following a complaint filed at the Coimbatore Central All Women Police Station.

Police tracked Jebaraj to Munnar after forming multiple search teams and issuing a lookout notice to prevent him from leaving the country. He was produced in court today and remanded to judicial custody. Jebaraj has been charged under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act (POCSO), with sections related to aggravated sexual assault invoked.

The alleged assaults occurred during a party at Jebaraj’s Coimbatore home in May 2022. One of the victims recently disclosed the incident to a relative, prompting the police complaint. A senior police officer confirmed that at least one minor has given a statement to the child welfare committee.

Jebaraj, who recently sought anticipatory bail from the Madras High Court, denies the allegations, claiming they are orchestrated by his estranged wife amidst ongoing divorce proceedings. This arrest comes shortly after another pastor, Bajinder Singh in Punjab, received a life sentence for a 2018 rape conviction.
