Mon Apr 14 10:30:00 UTC 2025: ## NYT’s Hit Word Game “Connections” Baffles and Delights Players: Hints and Solutions for #671
NEW YORK – The New York Times’ latest word game, Connections, is taking the internet by storm. Similar in daily reset format to the wildly popular Wordle, Connections challenges players to identify the common thread linking four words out of a sixteen-word grid. Created by associate puzzle editor Wyna Liu, the game is playable on web browsers and mobile devices.
The game presents four color-coded categories (yellow, green, blue, and purple, with difficulty increasing accordingly). Players have four attempts to correctly group the words; each correct set removes those words from the board. The game board can be rearranged to aid players.
Today’s puzzle (#671) proved particularly challenging for some. Hints were offered to help players, including suggestions that one category involved the game *The Oregon Trail*, and another concerned things Ford might refer to.
**For those who struggled, the solutions are:**
* **Restrict:** BLOCK, CHECK, DAM, STOP
* **Ticketed Events:** CONCERT, GAME, MOVIE, PLAY
* **Associated with the Game *The Oregon Trail*:** DYSENTRY, FORD, HUNT, OXEN
* **What Ford Might Refer To:** ACTOR, CAR, DIRECTOR, PRESIDENT
Don’t worry if you didn’t solve it! A new Connections puzzle awaits tomorrow. For those seeking additional word puzzles, Mashable offers a variety of games including Mahjong, Sudoku, and crossword puzzles.
