**Hisar, Haryana:** Prime Minister Narendra Modi today inaugurated Maharaja Agrasen International Airport in Hisar, Haryana, marking a significant milestone for the region. The inauguration included the launch of direct commercial flights to Ayodhya’s Maharishi Valmiki Airport in Uttar Pradesh, a move lauded by Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini as a historic moment. The Chief Minister stated that the new flight route will make it easier for people of Hisar to visit Ayodhya and pay their respects to Lord Ram.
The event also saw the laying of the foundation stone for the new terminal building at Hisar Airport. The Prime Minister’s Office previously announced scheduled flights from Hisar to Ayodhya (twice weekly) and three weekly flights to Jammu, Ahmedabad, Jaipur, and Chandigarh.
Chief Minister Saini described the day as historic, emphasizing the impact of improved connectivity on the region’s development and the fulfillment of aspirations. He also paid tribute to Dr. B.R. Ambedkar on his 135th birth anniversary, echoing Prime Minister Modi’s earlier tribute to the architect of the Indian Constitution and his contributions to social justice and the creation of a self-reliant India. The Prime Minister’s visit also included paying respects to Ambedkar’s legacy.
