**TIRUPATI, April 14, 2025** – K. Anna Lezhneva, wife of Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister K. Pawan Kalyan, performed a tonsure and offered prayers at the Lord Venkateswara temple in Tirupati on Monday. This act of devotion followed a recent fire accident at a Singapore school where her son, Mark Shankar, sustained minor burns and smoke inhalation on April 8th.
Ms. Lezhneva arrived in Tirupati late Sunday and offered her hair at the temple’s mini-kalyanakatta. She also completed a declaration of faith form, a requirement for individuals of non-Hindu faiths. Following an overnight stay, she participated in the Suprabhatam Seva and donated ₹17 lakh (approximately $210,000 USD, assuming an exchange rate of 80 rupees per dollar) to the TTD’s Nitya Annadanam Complex for a day’s worth of free meals. She further served food to devotees at the complex before partaking in the meal herself. Mark Shankar was attending a summer camp at the time of the accident.
