Mon Apr 14 15:30:00 UTC 2025: ## Piastri Triumphs in Bahrain as Others Face Setbacks
**Manama, Bahrain –** Oscar Piastri secured McLaren’s first ever Bahrain Grand Prix victory in a dominant display, showcasing his championship potential. However, the race was far from smooth sailing for other teams.
McLaren teammate Lando Norris finished a disappointing P3, lamenting a “messy race” and vowing to improve in Saudi Arabia. Red Bull, while achieving their first double points finish of the season, experienced pit stop issues, according to team principal Christian Horner. Meanwhile, AlphaTauri’s Yuki Tsunoda secured points despite Horner deeming his performance “reasonable.”
Several drivers voiced frustration. Williams’ Alex Albon missed out on points for the first time in 2025, calling it a “missed opportunity.” Alpine’s Esteban Ocon, however, celebrated a double-points finish with teammate Gasly, recovering from a qualifying crash. Haas also celebrated a double-points finish, with their drivers expressing pride in their performance.
Further challenges emerged for other competitors. Alpine’s Pierre Gasly reported issues with his car setup, while Red Bull junior driver Jak Crawford suffered an early retirement from the race. The race also saw strategic miscalculations, with Dennis Hauger of Racing Bulls citing a “disaster” impacting his race and several drivers reflecting on suboptimal strategy decisions. The FIA held a post-race press conference to address these issues. The full report with all the details from the teams and the FIA is available at the Formula One website.
