Mon Apr 14 01:10:00 UTC 2025: ## Ganguly Re-elected as ICC Men’s Cricket Committee Chairman
**Dubai:** Sourav Ganguly, former Indian cricket captain, has been reappointed as the chairman of the ICC Men’s Cricket Committee. The decision was made during the ICC’s annual general meeting in Dubai. Fellow Indian former cricketer VVS Laxman will continue as a member of the committee. Other members include Desmond Haynes (West Indies), Hamid Hassan (Afghanistan), Graeme Smith (South Africa), and Jonathan Trott (England). Ganguly assumed the role in 2021, succeeding Anil Kumble.
Separately, the ICC announced the formation of a task force to support Afghan women cricketers. The Taliban’s ban on women’s sports has left the Afghan women’s cricket team disbanded, with many players seeking refuge in countries like Australia. The task force, supported by Cricket Australia, the ECB, and the BCCI, aims to assist both current players and aspiring female cricketers in Afghanistan. The women’s committee, chaired by Catherine Campbell (New Zealand), also includes Avril Fahey (Australia) and Moseki (South Africa).
