**Chennai, April 14, 2025** – Triplicane police conducted a routine vehicle check near the Gymkhana Club on Saturday night, leading to the seizure of ₹7 lakh in unaccounted cash from a youth. The individual, identified as I. Sheik Nasruddin of Nesapakkam, claimed the money was collected from a shop in Evening Bazaar on the instructions of a Dubai-based businessman, Ibrahim, and was intended for deposit into Triplicane bank accounts. Suspecting the cash may be proceeds of a hawala transaction, police transferred the funds to income tax officials for further investigation.
