**Agra, Uttar Pradesh, April 12, 2025** – Tensions remain high in Uttar Pradesh following controversial remarks made by Samajwadi Party (SP) Rajya Sabha MP Ramji Lal Suman about Rajput king Rana Sanga. While protests continue, SP chief Akhilesh Yadav has pledged his unwavering support for the MP, framing the issue within the party’s PDA (Pichda, Dalit, Alpsankhyak) unity platform.

Yadav’s declaration came during the unveiling of a Dr. B.R. Ambedkar statue in Etawah, where he emphasized the need for solidarity among the PDA communities. He condemned the protests, claiming they were orchestrated by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).

Meanwhile, members of over 40 Kshatriya groups, including the Karni Sena, staged a ‘Rakt Swabhiman’ (Blood Honour) conference in Agra demanding an apology from Suman. The demonstration, which included displays of swords and sticks, drew participants from several districts across the region. Shashank Rajput, a Karni Sena sympathizer, stated that no one has the right to disrespect Rana Sanga.

Security has been heightened around Suman’s Agra residence following previous attacks by Karni Sena members. The BJP has strongly criticized Yadav’s comments, accusing him of divisive rhetoric aimed at creating social unrest. Pushkar Mishra, a senior BJP leader, stated that such actions are unacceptable and should be condemned.

Suman’s original remarks, made on March 21, questioned Rana Sanga’s role in inviting Babur to India. This statement sparked outrage, leading to protests and security concerns. The situation underscores the ongoing political and social tensions in Uttar Pradesh.
